Sideboard done

Making beech edging for the worktops is a fun process; the wood is quite tough and takes some work to cut. It makes a fair amount of stinky smoke in the process too - I think the chunk of beech I bough had quite bit of built up stress in it and the cuts were trying to clamp down on the riving knife of the CU300 saw, which meant the back of the blade was doing side-cutting. Stinky! Fortunately thin strips bend quite easily and a run through the planer made nice smooth strips ready to glue and pin in place. A few screws to hold it all in the right spot and - done! The cards are for Bridget’s birthday a couple of days ago… 21 again!
