Floor, at last (pt2)

With the floor down and the blocking done and doorways tarped off, the filler was spread and the drum sander rented.
Drum sanding is a bit scary since they are very aggressive machines; they need to be to get the initial levelling done, but I’m sure there must be a better design somewhere. After the drum comes the flat sander - which meant another round of spreading filler. By midnight or thereabouts I was ready to start sanding.

Yes, I really was working sanders in the middle of the night. Bridget was in the UK for a family emergency visit so I had nothing else to spend my time on.
