Shower walls installed (Updated - pictures)

More nasty weather yesterday made for a short day’s work but we made up for it today. Mike started on the downstairs hallway floor while I made progress on the pantry worktop and then we joined forces to install the shower wall panels.
The two back panels - each 78”x30” went in first and without much problem beyond the sheer weight. They each got a set of squiggled silicone squid-suckers on the back and then just press against the wall. I decided to screw a wooden cleat across the tops for safety’s sake, though various experts seem to claim it is unnecessary. The two side walls required a bit more work since they both needed scribing to fit against the back panels and align with the intended outside edge. One panel also needed holes for the shower valve and head.
The first job was to place the panel in rough position, align it decently with the outside and scribe to the back panel with a pair of compasses. Once the cut was done we placed it again to check the fit and I got out the trusty laser level. By using both the vertical and horizontal lines I could aim at the centre of the shower head pipe and then move the panel into place; obviously the laser was pointing at the same point and I just had to mark the panel. Repeat for the valve body, cut the holes and done. Victory for the laser again!
