Floor, at last (pt1)

Somehow we got messed up with the flooring. Sort of ‘death by a thousand cuts’ - the supplier messed up the original delivery, said he’d fix it ‘very soon’ and then you wait…. and wait… then some more gets delivered but still not enough and the cycle restarts.
After six months it finally dawned on me that something had to be done so I ordered some suitable material from Slegg Lumber, it arrived on time and I installed it in an afternoon. So simple!

Even unsanded it looks pretty good.

Next trick is to sand the not-bedroom areas downstairs and then the living room upstairs. First part of the job is to block the floor trusses over the various walls in order to keep the dust from going everywhere; I’d already done the blocking around the bathroom walls for acoustic privacy (aka fart-hiding) when we had visitors a couple of months ago.
