Power at last
10/Nov/10 21:16
Busy day today - we had BC Hydro and the electrician here to deal with the power transfer, roofing guys to install the chimney flashing, heating guys to do the last bits of ducting and of course the drywall guys doing still more drywall.
The first order of the day was getting the power pole disconnected so that the power cable could be connected up to the pole safely. The BC Hydro truck turned up nice and early and popped the connection without any problems and Chris got to work removing the old outlet box and hooking up the cable. Shortly after he finished the hydro guys came back and we had actual power in the house! That pleased the drywall guys as well since it meant that their heaters can get on with warming up the house; since one of the glues required temperatures over 15C and the house had been as cold as 8C this was a cause for celebration.
Next was some heating ducting work downstairs to complete things before the drywall has to be installed; nothing unusual needed there and most of it got done ok.
Lastly the chimney flashing finally got installed and a couple of other small roof fixes.
Oh and I prepped the front door opening ready for installing the door.
